Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte
The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, situated in the French municipality of Maincy (Seine-et-Marne), fifty kilometers southeast of Paris near Melun, is a seventeenth-century château (1658-1661) constructed for Louis XIV's Superintendent of Finances, Nicolas Fouquet. Today it belongs to a junior branch of the Marquis de Vogüé family.
