VAUT LE DÉTOUR

Terms of use

Last updated: 18 August 2026 · Belgian law applies

1. Publisher and purpose. Vaut le Détour ("the Service") is published by Valaroc SRL, Bois d'Hennessy 3, 1310 La Hulpe, Belgium. Company and VAT number: BE 1040.743.385. The Service plans road journeys by composing stops along your route (visits, meals, breaks, refuelling) according to your preferences, presented as a roadmap with optional spoken guidance on the road.

2. Information provided "as is". Opening hours, prices, accessibility, durations and detours are indicative, drawn from public and partner sources, and may contain errors or last-minute changes. Always check that a place is open before setting off. The Service does not replace your own vigilance: obey the road rules and do not handle your phone while driving. The guidance mode is meant for the passenger, or for use while stopped.

3. Mapping and third-party data. Points of interest come in particular from DATAtourisme (Etalab Open Licence), OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Wikipedia, and from partner services. Authorship and the date each item was updated are shown. The places, businesses and events listed remain the property of their operators.

4. Affiliate links and recommendations. Some suggestions may carry affiliate links: if you book through them, the Service may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This is stated next to the button concerned, at the moment you click. A partnership does not buy a ranking: we only recommend stops that are worth the detour.

5. The Service may become paid. The Service is designed as a paid service. Today's free access is a temporary exception that creates no acquired right to it remaining free. By using the Service you accept that it may become paid in the future; pricing terms will be communicated to you before any billing, and you will remain free to refuse and to close your account at that point, with an export of your data.

6. Content you add. The photos, reviews and "validated detours" you publish remain yours; you grant the publisher a non-exclusive licence to display them within the Service (your logbook and, if you enable it, the public page of a place). You warrant that you hold the rights to them and may withdraw them at any time.

7. Your account. Access is personal. Automated extraction, resale of the data, and any use that harms the places listed or other users are prohibited. An account may be suspended for abuse, after notice.

8. Liability. The publisher is liable for its own fraud and gross negligence. Otherwise, this being a free information service supplied "as is", its liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage caused by a breach attributable to it. The publisher is not a party to the services of third-party establishments.

9. Changes to these terms. These terms may change. Any substantial change will be notified by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you refuse it, you may close your account free of charge before that date, with an export of your data.

10. Contact, mediation and applicable law. Reach us at contact@vautledetour.com or through the contact form. Our full details are in the legal notice. If a dispute cannot be settled, you may refer it free of charge to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service, boulevard du Roi Albert II 8 box 1, 1000 Brussels, mediationconsommateur.be. Belgian law applies. On the processing of your data, see the privacy policy.

11. AI transparency. Some content in the Service (place descriptions, stop suggestions, guide texts) is prepared with the help of artificial intelligence tools from public data, then reviewed and published under the editorial responsibility of Valaroc SRL. To report an error: contact form.
